Ryanair Cabin Crew

I had known about the Ryanair Cabin Crew Charity calender. I thought is was a noble idea, all the proceeds were for the charity. Then there was the free advertisement for the airline. Many will love the buy the picture of the beautiful air hostess.

In fact Ryanair is one of the few successful low cost carrier in Europe. It had attempted to buy Aer Lingus a couple of times, but so far it has not been successful.

I came across the paper posting on the airlines unorthodox way of reducing cost. It was proposed that the cabin crew to go on diet to reduce weight. That may explain why the crews were having beautiful features in the annual charity calender. Then again, the saving in weight may be small, a person can reduce about 5 kg, if you have 4 crew, it will only be 20kg. Probably the management calculate it differently... if you have 200 aircraft with 4 crews, then you have 800 crews flying at one time. If the saving is 5kg per crew, your saving is 800 x5 = 4000kg. That will be a substantial fuel saving.

Then, when I look back, there is a close link between the Ryanair Cabin Crew calendar models and the get slim initiative. The initiatives are keeping them slim and beautiful.
