There are arguments whether getting through the job interview is an art or science. I would think that they are both, you will need the two elements to get yourself employed. Not all jobs requirements are the same, some may requirement ghigher elements of Science compared to the art and social elements. A job of a scientist will definitely require more of the scientific knowledge compared to the art. Whereas a job of politician will need the art components or the social elements.
Met with the short but informative post by Kim Thompson on the SFGate and I thought I would share. If you are looking for a job, their advice is well-taken:

Identify your skills and abilities. List at least 10 skills that have contributed to your success. Do know what makes you different from the other candidates.Meet your qualifications of the employer's needs. Remain deliberately describe the words you use to yourself.Focus on your goals. This gives an impression of trust and gives you an advantage. Make sure your interests of the employer's requirements are related to.Mentally trade places with the employer, and develop an understanding of what he is looking for in a candidate.Practice make a compelling presentation to the interview. Ask yourself, what you want to rent would make employers.
