Even if you had been travelling often, it may be possible that you may have miss the the jobs of cabin crews, the portion behind the scene. The short video give some inside of the real jobs.

From the video, you can see that a crew is kept busy well before the first passenger step into the cabin. When the food are loaded the crew has to check against the manifest. As the meals are to be served about 2 hours after departure, the food have to be processed as per the procedure, some may need to be heated, some need to be served onto the required plates. Gone as the days when food are served in the expensive and exclusive dinners set. Safety and security reasons require airlines to be satisfied with plastic plates and cutlery.

The Galleys Depending on the aircraft types, the number of galleys range from 2 to 5. These are like the kitchen at our houses, except that they are more complex. The food from the caterer are ready  packed inside a small portable container, wheeled from the trucks. It is normally precooled, and the aircraft galleys are cooled too. When it is time to serve, the food have to heated in the fast ovens.
