Getting through the interview is the gateway to become a cabin crew. It does not matter how well you had prepare for the interview, the short 20 minutes interaction will decide the fate of the applicants.
There are many tips on how to get through the interview. Some are based on experience while others may be based on readings and researches. Basically the preparations are based on 2 categories:
1. Preparation on the knowledges - it is concerned on the what you should know, may be about the job, the company or the contextual knowledges.
2. Delivery skills or interview performance- It is about how to behave or carry youself in the interview. It is one of the issues of managing perception.
These are some of tips:
a. know the company well, do your research, check the internet and browse the web page. Go and read the latest news about the company. This will show the interviewer that you are serious about the post.
b.prepare the list of possible questions and answer them through your mind. Research for the answer. You can also get some books on the interview technique.
c. You can you various technique to capture the data, the most effective is by using mind map.
d. The final interview can be tricky, as it can ask about certain issues or situation and you have to give your opinion. One example is the issue of SIA cabin crew was caught sleeping onboard.. do you think it is appropriate?
Obviously, the advantage is heading towards the “opposition”, so.. if you were picked the proposition group during the interview.. if you didn’t know before hand, then obviously, your points are not going to be strong…
Still.. for opposition, don’t get too happy… because, in all terms, criticizing and saying is easy, but what else can you do or suggest to ease the proposition is another way that you can impress the interviewers.
The fact that the company actually implemented this surely have their own intention in mind… and so.. while you may not agree, how else can you improve the situation while trending along the line and not focus on criticizing alone ?
For Cabin crew students, I am sure you know where I am coming from because it touches on one of the key points in the taboo section.
The fact remains, if you are well prepared for the interview, do your homework, ask yourself questions, ask how you can enhance and improve your answers, it would certainly going the improve your performance in the interview.
