structure of Cabin Crew Department

Depending on the company you are working for, the departmental structure can be functional.

The structure can be:

Headed by :Vice President Cabin Crew

Under him/her probably 5 people
1 manager looking at the service standard
1 manager takes care of scheduling of the crew, the crews work schedule to be made well in advance.
1 take care of the training. A critical task to supply the skill crews
1 take care of the quality standard.

These staff above are not flying, but they can be an ex crew.

It is worth to note that cabin crews can be the largest work force in an airline. They can form about 20% of the work force, and they are one of the few groups that cannot be outsourced. It is obvious, if I fly and the crews are wearing uniform of another airlines, then it will be like flying the other airline.

There are many ways, the cabin crew department can be set up within the airline.

1. The Vice President Cabin Crew can be reporting direct to the CEO.

There are some airline that have very odd way of setup. The cabin crew report to pilot. This make it difficult for cabin crews as in work situation the cabin crews are controlled by pilots.

Cabin crews always play an important role in getting passengers to fly. The set up, can affect the work performance of the crews.
