New Firefly Uniform

Firefly had started the jet services from KLIA to East Malaysia. It was only appropriate for the airline to think of the look of its cabin crew, as it is no longer a commuter airlines operating from the secondary airport. It is now a full-fledged carrier competing with the best in the low cost segment of the market.

The airline revelaed for the first time the new firefly uniform, to reflect the jet image and to include a tinge of malaysia heritage. To mark the occassion, the fashion extravaganza was held on 13 Jan at The Holiday Inn in Glemarie Shah Alam. All were set for the 15 Jan 2011 inaugural B737 flight to Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.

The new firefly uniform was designed by Jendela KL enable the colorful batik heritage to be added to provide an exciting and vibrant new image. The selected material are said to be durable, and yet it ensures comfort and flexibility for the crew to perform their jobs both on ground as well as in flight. The design gives the female crew the feminine look while provide the sharp contrast to the man.

Background on Firefly

Firefly started it operation as a commuter airline operating from Subang in 2007. It had a fleet of seven ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft. The number was increased to 10 in 2011. The route includes 19 cities and 24 sectors in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore.

The airline had started the jet operation from KLIA with a new fleet of Boeing 737-800 from the Main Terminal Building of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) starting Jan 2011. The new Firefly Uniform will be utilised on the jet operation.
